Spiral Community Center was a project I designed in my sophomore year design studio. The project's goal is to provide a space for exhibition and community activity use within a deformed land since the government only owns a portion of the site's land. The project is located in Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf(淡水魚人碼頭), which has a beautiful view of Tamsui River and a waterfront trail connecting the site with Tamsui Metro Station, Huwei Fishing Port(滬尾漁港) and Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf. Behind the site is the well-known Tamsui Old Street. In addition, there are Tamsui Art Workshop, Tamsui Fuyou Temple (福佑宮), and Tamsui Presbyterian Church, which provide an intense cultural atmosphere.

The view, not only the waterfront but also the city side, is to be cherished, so I should try my best to reduce the height of the building while meeting the scheme's needs. I came up with designing spaces that can be changed as needed, such as movable walls, chairs, and furniture.

The circular plane allows the wall to slide in specific zones through rails and rollers. The meeting room space can be used for different sizes of meeting people in this design. Furniture is attached to the wall or hidden in the ground.
